former Education Minister Tunisia
Biography
Tawfik Jelassi is Professor of Strategy and Technology Management at IMD Business School in Lausanne. Prior to that, he served as Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Information & Communication Technologies in the transition Government of Tunisia (2014-2015). He was from 2000 to 2013 Professor and Dean of the Business School of Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées in Paris. He also was from 2011 to 2013 Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ooredoo Tunisia, the leading mobile telecom operator in the country. Dr. Jelassi was in the 1990s Associate Professor and Chairman of the Technology Management Department at INSEAD in Fontainebleau.
Dr. Jelassi earned his Ph.D. doctorate from the Stern School of Business at New York University. His research focuses on e-leadership, digital business transformation, and leadership in turbulent times. He published six books and over ninety research articles in leading conference proceedings and refereed academic journals. He taught extensively on MBA, EMBA and executive education programs in over a dozen countries around the world. For his academic work, he was granted numerous research and teaching awards in several countries including the USA, France, the UK, and China. For services rendered to the country, the President of Tunisia awarded Dr. Jelassi two major national decorations: the “Order of Merit in the field of Education and Science” and “Commander of the Order of the Republic”.
