Biography

Julie (48) was born in Michigan, USA, and has been living in Germany for around 30 years.
Her career began with Arthur Andersen, turning her knowledge of both sides of the Atlantic into specializations, focusing first on accounting (HGB and US GAAP) and subsequently on tax (tax advice and planning under US and German tax law). She advised real estate investment funds on international transactions before changing sides in 1998 to head the finance and accounting function of the international project developer Tishman Speyer Properties at a time when this company was involved in some of Berlin’s biggest real estate projects.
 
In 2001, Julie joined EY, where she was made partner in 2002. Having built up human capital services in Mannheim, she took on responsibility for EY’s strategic growth portfolio for Europe, Middle East, India and Africa (EMEIA). From 2002 onward Julie increasingly focused her time in assurance, advising and auditing many growth companies, she served several Fortune 500 clients as lead audit partner with an increasing focus on life science. Julie quickly took charge of further leadership roles including Managing Partner for EMEIA Accounts and has been a member of the EMEIA Executive Committee since 2012. From July 1, 2016 onwards, she is the Regional Managing Partner for EY Germany, Switzerland and Austria (GSA).
 
Leading the GSA region, Julie has prioritized EY’s market organization and digital transformation. She is a strong advocate of digital solutions and deeply connected to the central European network of tech leaders. This summer, Julie was added to the prestigious UN EQUALS Advisory Board connecting the public and private sector to advance digital gender parity.
 
Julie Linn Teigland lives with her husband and four children in Heidelberg.
